Well, here's the kind of day it's been...
Well, it was not quite that boring...I did get over to apply a THIRD and final coat of stain to the house (parentals'). That took longer than I anticipated...also chatted with the parents...neighbor(s)...you know how that goes. Tomorrow...the deck!! Wait for it...I mite even post pikshurs.
Went to Safeway for Noms and wouldn't you know it...I fell. Yeah, football fans, right on some smeary water puddles (I call it that because it was not a proper puddle of water, it was like, smeared water puddles). There were store employees muhling about who could have cared less that a customer fell simply because they had far more important things to do than wipe up water! I should say here that there was A) a yellow cone, the words of which I did not read, but may have said something like "caution...wet floor" (and yet, there was wet floor still all 'round the stupid cone and 2) some stupid black mat beside the cone (conceivably to soak up the water but C) there WAS water beside and after the stupid black mat and that is what I stepped in. Anyway, at this point I even made contact with a clerk at a nearby til (we'll call him Murray) who looked away and carried on with his customer. Wow, I thought, here's me on my now sore knee, on the ground trying to get up, and they just ignore the asshole customer who fell! That's what I felt like! The asshole customer. And they all ignored me, like nothing happened. Once I got up I shouted facetiously to Murray "Thanks for your concern, no, no, I'll be alright!", went & grabbed our sammiches (even son A was unconcerned) and proceeded through Murray's til where I challenged him on my fall. He denied seeing me fall and denied seeing me on the ground (even tho we made eye contact). I was hot...mad and upset, embarrassed and my knee hurt (and my pants were dirty too from their dirty-water smeary-puddle).
So, off to Cusomer Service (and I use the term loosely, ladies & germs) to report the negligence, where the Assistant Manager (we'll call him Sam) was paged and he, and only he, was concerned. Took down the particulars, looked at my knee (oh, and my flip flops, which are perfect for slipping in smeary water puddles), noted the time of the "accident", said he'd "e-mail Calgary" and that I'd be hearing back from him. Well, finally, some action. It was extremely upsetting and embarrassing. We will see where this goes. But really, it was an unf*ckingbelievable way to be treated (or not, in this case), having fallen due to their negligence. Safeway can Bite Me.
I just needed to get that out, and now I can go on with my life. I must clean the house and do other stuff, none of which I want to do.
It did not rain today, so, yay!!! Sunny & hot all week, I know how to pick 'em (weeks to be on vaycayshons).
TTFN, must go ice mai knee...

Bombers Fail! Again!
Egads! A dreadful first-half for the Bombers...very lethargic offence (to put it mildly) and a very tired defence at the end. Michael Bishop took a beating. Kudos to Alexis Serna for a successful 54 yard field goal! Nicely done!!
Somebody musta been doing a lot of yelling at half-time, because the second half was much better, albeit too little, too late. A good comeback but not enough for the win. Kudos to Fred Reid - 17 carries for 167 yards and two touchdowns! Niiice...
I must admit, I fell asleep somewhere in the 3rd quarter. This is messed up, though...what was UP in the first half? And now we are 2-4, tied with Toronto for last in the East Division. OMG, where will it all end?
Yesterday, M, S and S (granddotter) and Spencer-Dog came by; I shared my hamburger with Spencer who was happy to be at Granny's, but a little paranoid about a sneak cat-attack (no worries, the cats were not getting near him)... We had a fun visit and then it was time for S to go home and to bed.
Today, M and I hope to get over to the parentals' to stain the deck. Yay! If it ain't too wet from Friday's rain all day (off & on) and yesterday's drizzle...I'm sensing a pattern here :-)
Anyway, I hope to accomplish great things today and dammit, I believe I will!

Stuffs
Morning, football fans...tonite's the really big game and we just have to beat Calgary! The Vegas line is a Calgary win by 14.5 points...how rude! and insulting. Crazy Football Mom line - Bombers by a field goal. C'mon, Blue, prove those guys at Caesar's Palace wrong!!!
Good Luck, Bombers!!!
Aerosmith update - As Steven Tyler has a broken shoulder in addition to head & neck injuries, they now say the tour is postponed by at least a month... or two! September is doable, October not so much...kinda cold in the 'Peg by then, especially in the evening. Brrrrrr. Methinks they will either cancel it outright (no!) or mehopes they will move our concert indoors to the MTS Centre...with only 10,000 tickets sold, this could be an option. And I really wanna see ZZ Top!!! Hope you get better soon, Steven.
Dull & dreary outside, what a shock!! They promised "sunny and hot" by Monday, Tuesday of next week, however the Weather forecast now says...cloudy and/or rainy. Surprise! They were just kidding, of course. Here's my rant on the weathermen...they have no clue how to predict the weather. So, what are we paying them for??? Crazy Football Mom prediction: some sun, some cloud, warm with a chance of rain. There - it's all covered. Maybe I'm in the wrong profession...I'm just sayin'.
So, here's what we have for next week up until Wednesday (disclaimer, of course this could change
So that's the news, weather and sports. Off to start my day, must do something worthwhile...I get a sense I should clean the maison, mais oui? Oh yes, I'm also bilingual.
I made this lol on Cheezburger:

Heavy Sigh...
Sigh...what a blah day. Went to a funeral for a friend's Mom who unexpectedly passed away. Sad.
Did some other junk and now I sit thinking (yea, knowing) I should clean the house, yet I don't want to. Why? Because I'm lazy today, that's why. Went to bed very late, couldn't sleep, but got up this morning at 9, which is late for me. And hence, I have been running late all day...not that I'm running :-)
It must be karma that the concert was cancelled and it's raining (off & on of course!) with possibility of thunder shower(s)...they would have had to cancel anyway, kind of dangerous to have all that electrical equipment out in an open stadium like that. Jeez...
I was reading my bro's blog, he was reminscing about his karate days. I found this cute pic on the cheezburger site.

I'm not sure if this is karate or kick-boxing or if the kitteh merely felt like jumping into the air while his bruddah frum anudder muddah was happy to play with a string. If you love kittehs (and other animals) I recommend icanhascheezburger...it's an awesome, entertaining site and you are guaranteed at least one laugh, even if you are grumpy...or tired...or whatevas.
There are also loldogs, lolcelebs, look-alikes, etc. This could keep you busy for years, football fans. I don't know who has that kind of time... I really must go now and do the rest of me errands.
Oh yah, and so much for the campfire/weinie roast tonite (s'posed to be compensation for missing the concert)...it never rains but it pours!

Aerosmith and ZZ Top - postponed!!!
Crazily, tomorrow evening's concert has been postponed due to vocalist Steven Tyler's unfortunate fall from the stage yesterday in Sturgis, South Dakota. He was apparently dancing during "Love in an Elevator" and well, he fell backwards off the elevator, er, the stage. The guy is 61-years-old, what the hell is he doing jumping around like that? 'Specially when he's just getting over a pulled hamstring in late June/early July (depending on the website). This tour has been plagued with various injuries & surgeries and apparently Wpg's concert is the only one to be postponed...they will play in Regina on Sunday (Grrrrr!) and carry on from there...no word on when the Wpg make up date will be...I hope it's soon and ZZ Top better still be with them...please?!?!?! They are a big reason why I got tix in the first place.
This is known as the Griswold Effect. Remember the National Lampoon movies, with Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) and his lovely wife, whose name escapes me. The Griswold Effect is, in essence, a series of misfortunes and / or unfortunate events...and we ARE the Griswolds, as these kind of things keep happening...it's gone on for years. And just when we think it's safe...Kapow! Oh well, this too shall pass.
Got to Gimli today! It was sunny and hot...off & on...when there weren't big thunderclouds. But it didn't rain. Got the lawn cut & etc., re-planted three little misguided tress (1 evergreen, 2 cedar) around the yard, which had been growing under the deck stairs and had to be moved. Hopefully they will grow & fluorish, unlike my petunias which have just sat there since Canada Day...they didn't die, but they sure didn't grow! Here's the trailor (yard is behind the trees, truck is parked on random grass):
Ate lupper (this is lunch & supper) around 2:30 at Kris' fish & chips...it's like a little bit of Heaven, football fans. Then off to Wpg Beach, so I could actually say I walked on the beach. Which I did! Toes in the sand and in the water :-) I miss the beach, I don't get there near enough...gonna be a beach bum in my next life. Collected a bunch of beeyutiful beach stones & shells for S (granddotter) as she loves stones & sand (as all little ones do), so her collection has begun.
A lone seagull happened to be walking by and stood still as I pulled out my camera...just as I was gonna snap the picture, he turned to look at me head-on and then he turned again as if to say "this is my good side!" Here is a shot of him and, further down the beach, his extended family:
All in all, a great day! Well, that's it then, 'Moscow', 'I be a Russian'! Off to visit a friend & drown our sorrows with some MGDs.
Toodles,

Mady and her Daddy (from Jon & Kate...plus 8 Lawyers)
I made this lol on the cheezburger site...and this is MILD compared to some of the other captions!!
OMG...here are some of them, but remember the above is my very own, original caption!

Pathetic actually...Jon Gosselin ends up on the lol celebs portion of the site for all to caption at will...cuz he gotz millionz in zee bankz and zee hair plugz and zee new womanz. I don't care, he still has the personality of a kitchen stool and his kids, all 8 of them, deserve(d) better.
G'nite...
G'nite...
Miscellany...
Finally, here are some pics of the parentals' house:

The cedar was dirty and had mould on it...after cleaning & prep work, here is the finished product. The color is "Monarch Gold', Dad picked it out and it's very nice! Lighter than the cedar but a cedar-ish color nonetheless. And up there is dotter M, painting her heart out. So, the deck still must be re-stained & the lattice attached (you can see where) and then new fascia before the new eavestroughing. Voila! New house.
Today, me and S and Spencer went to the park for some fun & swinging. As earlier promised on this Blog, here are just a few pics of the cutest, sweetest, funniest, prettiest, most wonderful grandbaby ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far, so sweet. She even got the hang of swinging...she may look scared to you, but she's just having fun! You will note she has alot to say...she gets this from her Mother and Grandmother.
And, below is Spencer-Dog. He was not too relaxed at the park...it didn't help that someone had the nerve to walk their dog right by us, which really got his mojo going...how dare they?!?!? I had him tied to the stroller & was pushing S on the swing, but at one point I looked back and could not
s
ee him. OMG, I thought, Spencer ran away! He was hiding, the little bugger, behind the stroller. He also had a fun day!
Ok, here is "S the Imp", I just love this pic...

More pics to come, now that I have the hang of this. I'm working in Vista which is far and away different from Windows XP which I have at work & everything's different...everything. But I'm getting there.
Off to Walmart! And then dishes, water the flowers & tomatoes.
Oh, just for my brother, here is a picture of my bleeding heart plant which I took in June (he had one on his Blog)... here it is:
Isn't it lovely? I thot so too. Well, football fans, see you in the funny papers!
