Okay, I've decided to blog about Jon & Kate + 8...just this once. I watched a couple of Webisodes on the TLC site...most of 'em I'd already seen, as I do follow the show, or at least I did. I don't want to watch it anymore because of who Jon & Kate have become, and I wish I could say unequivocally that I absolutely won't, but it's kinda like watching a train wreck. Ya just can't turn away! Like alot of other people, I have grown fond of the kids, having watched them grow up, literally, on tv. So, here's what I have to say about the whole sad situation.
Kate in the early years was a sweet, loving person & mother, albeit always emasculating & belittling when it came to Jon. Over time, we could see her changing...wardrobe, makeup, jewelry, etc. and then she became an emasculating Diva. I've read two of her three books...the 2nd one "Eight Little Faces" is nothing more than a money grab (but filled with nice pics)...nothing really to read there. The first one "Multiple Blessings", that was real, she wrote from the heart about everything. And now, she is fluff...it's all about Kate. She & Jon now say "My kids, my kids" not "our kids"..."I'm there for my kids". It's too bad Kate was never 'there' for Jon. It's become painfully apparent that it's all about Kate, money, Kate, fame, Kate, and book tours (get me away from these kids!). The kids are the ones who will suffer the fallout from all of this, now and into the future. The divorce, the ugliness on some of the episodes, all out there for the world to see. A loving family chronicling their multiple children growing up turned into a 3-ring circus. You invite people and cameras into your lives & then you complain about the Paparazzi and having no privacy. That's a good one!
Jon - Yah, on that first 'announcement' episode he said he was so proud of himself that he "finally stood up for himself", he had enough of Kate, etc. Let's just say, for starters, that Jon is lazy...laaazeee! Methinks he was quite happy to sit back & let Kate be the control freak that she was and is, do all the work, and boss him around. Secondly, he has the personality of a kitchen stool & really, football fans, he's no prize in the studly department. Suddenly, Jon (who can't hold a steady job) awakens from his coma to discover that he's "32-with-8-kids-and-a-shrew-for-a-wife-and-Oh-My-God-how-did-I-get-here?" It begs the question, why bother renewing your wedding vows in Hawaii on your 9th anniversary if trouble was already brewing? Answer - cuz it was free! Everything's free! I never have to work again in my life!! And I can go clubbing and bring 23 year old girls back to the house (filled to the brim with my children). Shame on You, Jon. For 2 small people, Kate is the bigger person, and that is not saying a lot.
To the 'Sweet Little Kids', Mady (the snotty brat) and Cara - be brave sweethearts, this too shall pass. In time you can hopefully overcome, and lead somewhat normal lives. You should not have been forced to grow up behind cameras. You should not have had your dirty laundry (and your toilet training) aired in public. If Mommy & Daddy can't see that the tv show should not go on, surely someone else who cares for and looks after you guys will help guide you out of the madness. God Bless you kids!!
And that's my Jon & Kate rant.
Love & Peace

A New Day
Wow, this is it! Done work for 2 glorious weeks after today... sucks that it don' look or feel like summer outside anymore. Guess I should check the forecast, huh? On the upside, the plants all look great, oh ya I reported that yesterday. Other upside of all the rain - the grass has never looked more lush! Gimme a break, I'm TRYin' to make it a positive thing :-)
What would you do for a Klondike bar?!?! They are so deeeelicious...I think my first order of vacation bizzness w/be to get some Klondike bars and then not share! Gotta wait for a really hot, sweltering day though...much more enjoyabuhl that way :o)
Well, there I was sleeping away (thru the alarm again) but this time, nocturnal son A woke me to tell me it was time to get up. What a good son! Anybody wanna hire my good son? Please...hire him! Him need job...despurate!
Nephew N is going to Gai Paris today...he's on a European tour til September-ish me thinks.
Niece C is going to New York on Aug 13 to visit her beau, L.

Tired Like Ten Bears
Man oh Man Alive, football fans, it's been a WEEK. Accomplished great things today at work & many more miles to go; however, one more day and...you know it...Freedom!! And as of tomorrow, one more week til Aerosmith! and ZZ Top!! Oh, Man...
Upside of the rain - my flowers and tomato plants are doing spectacularly!
Downside of the rain - it's too wet...some sun and hot, please? This is getting old...
It has freakin' rained off and on all day for the last I-don't-know-how-many days. Enuf already! You'd think this was Ottawa ;-) 'Course, if I had my druthers, I'd be in Kelowna (or anywhere on the currently sizzlin' West Coast). Calgon, take me away!!!
Vegas line on Bombers/Argos game Saturday - Argos by 5 1/2 points (where DO they get these half points from? Seriously, if someone could enlighten me)
Crazy Football Mom line - don't really care, just hope that Michael Bishop can do it for us IF our offence PARTICIPATES this time.
I read in the Free Press today that Bishop has an arm like Matt Dunigan and Brett Favre. OMG! This bodes very well for our Bombers, football fans!!! Paws crossed... It's not whether you win or lose...well yah it IS but, it's also how the offence produces...all I'm gonna say.
"And I dream I'm on vacation...cuz I like the way that sounds...it's the perfect occupation...for me!!!!" As sung by Joe Walsh on the Long Road out of Eden CD (by the Eagles). That is one awesome CD...if you haven't listened to it, go out & BUY IT, you won't regret it. And Joe's my fave Eagle...he's got spunk! "I was drunk for 10 years!" you Go, Joe!!!
I think common sense should be re-labeled "uncommon sense"...cuz so many people ain't GOT it. You can't buy it, you can't teach it, you apparently can't learn it, you just either have it or you don't. I don't know too many people who have it, so my vote is to rename it. And of course we have to change the phrase "Common sense would dictate..." Who do I gotta call?
Soooo tired, gotta go figure out what to eat and more importantly pick out my costume for tomorrow's masquerade...for those of you slow on the uptake, this means my outfit for work. Ya had to spoil it by makin' me splain it. Doh!
I wondered why that Frisbee was getting bigger...and then it hit me!
Bye

Football Predictions and Other Stuff
Football fans, I just had a crazy (random) thought...with the certainty that Brett Favre won't be playing for the Vikings, they could sign Michael Vick. It's brilliant!! Or better yet...let's make Vick play for the Bombers...an additional sentence to the 19 months he served for Killing Dogs For Sport. It would be a win-win...punishment for both him AND Mike Kelly!! I don't care who Mike Kelly is or thinks he is, he's arrogant without cause and bottom-line, he is not doing his job!!! It's unfortunate the head coach is also the offensive coach. On the other hand, perhaps, just perhaps, it might be the offensive players...after all, they did lose alot of games last season. And our defence is burning up the field...and Wally Buono's BC Lions are also 1-3 with NO explanation...things that make you go hmmmmm.
Ok, that's my football rant.
It is such a pleasure to know that I have only 2 more days of work until 2 weeks of VACATION!!! Lots of relaxing and work to do in those 2 weeks and I sure hope summer makes an appearance...some sun and hot, please? Waiting for friends from Ottawa to get over on Aug 15th for some food, friendship and of course, brewskies! Can't wait!
Work sucked, but not as bad as usual. Accomplished great things...again...I am overworked and definitely underpaid, football fans. Grrrrrr! As long as I have the respect of my leaders, it makes it ALL worthwhile...gag!
Soooo...hope you all had a great day. Mine was semi-tolerable, must go rest now.
Take care and don't do anything I wouldn't do, which leaves it pretty much open.
Peace & Love,

Got Favre???
Hump Day...that sounds dirty, but it's Wednesday, football fans. And...Favre says NO to the Vikings, ending a summer of speculation. So there's my answer (I wondered about this yesterday & there it was today in the paper). He has decided to stay in retirement (after that one season with the Jets) and that's prolly a good thing for a 39-year-old quarterback (with lots of sacks, I might add :-) The end of an Era...Favre was one of hubby's fave players, having been a Packers fan all his life. I liked him too, he was a very classy guy, as far as football players go. Good Luck Favre and have a nice Retirement!!
Here's me, late for getting ready for work (who really cares?) as I slept thru the alarm and nocturnal son A did NOT make the leap that Mama might have to get up as the alarm rang its head off for an hour!@#$! Oh well this too shall pass...and see above, who really cares? It's just work.
Must...get...coffee and start me day.
Arrrrrr, see you in the funny papers!

Tuesday...Afternoon (The Moody Blues)
More like Tuesday evening...hey, we saw the Moody Blues 2 years ago. It was the first concert G and I had been to in 10 years! A decade! Last one was U2 in '97, then we skipped a decade. But no more, now we go regularly...we saw Elton John last September (awesome) and the Beatles Love Cirque in Vegas in November (double-awesome, brot tears to my eyes). And of course, The Eagles this past March and on August 7th, ZZ Top! (with special guests, Aerosmith :-). In Vegas this time, we may go see the Fabulous Miss M (Better Midler)...I've heard the show is, well, fabulous. And Cher...she's just "old" in more ways than one...and how much work HAS she had, her face doesn't even move when she talks...ridiculous!
Saw S tonite, took A to show M & S his new (no) hair and awesome free hat...S just LOVES her Uncle A. She put on a really big show...loves to perform to an audience. All too soon it was time for bed...yawn...and for S too, cuz she was really tired...
Three more days...three more days...three more days and I'm on staycation...lots of stuff to do, and we prolly will take in a Folklorama pavillion again. We went to the Phillipino one last year with Greg's office peeps, one of his gals was an Ambassador there...we got VIP seating for food AND for the show and it was great! We've been to the African, Russian, Romanian, Phillipino (and one I can't remember, so clearly pretty forgettable) pavillions in the past 3 years; they're pretty entertaining and it's neat to try the diffeerent food & beers...mmm...beer.
So Michael Vick has been told to be ready for week 6...week 6? They're reinstating him, but he can't play until week 6, and I'm not too sure if it'll be for the Falcons or who...dog killer! And still waiting to hear where Brett Favre ends up. Hoping for the Vikings cuz that would really piss off the Packers. Shame on them for snubbing their noses at him when he wanted to come out of retirement & they gave him a hard time. You can take the man out of football, but you can't take the football out of the man and he wants to play, so let him play! It'll be interesting, can't wait for the NFL season to begin.
And that's the way it was, Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Goodnight, sleep tight and don't let the vampire bats bite.

Oops, I Did It Again...
Well, ladies & germs I did it again...shot my mouf off prolly a wee bit too much at work, but she asked! for an update (her was on holidays) I was complaining & somewhat tattling.Cut me some slack, getting my work done depends on others doing their part...and some are just slack-asses. And some are just jack-asses, one person in particularly...when THEY are back from holidays and when I are back from holidays, we are going to talk. Seriously, I now have rock-solid proof that they are intentionally leaving me out of the loop (so glad, thought I was just being paranoid already :-) Other than that, was a good, productive day.
So...we signed Michael Bishop as our new quarterback...lessee, how many does that make now? Oh yah, FOUR!!! Bombers must have a heck of alot of dinero to have 4 quarterbacks...wait a minute, 4 quarterbacks = one dollar...we could go to the Dollarstore and get another one!!! But I digress...again. The Cowboys have 4 quarterbacks...can the Bombers afford 4 quarterbacks? Hell, I don't think so! Mike Kelly, you'll probably give one or two of the wrong guys their walking papers & keep that useless LeFors who throws like a girl. I'm tempted to not even watch the game on Saturday, but I'm sure my curiosity will git the best o' me. Pretty sure I'll watch...must...find...something...better...to do.
Oh well, this too shall pass and tomorrow's another day...must rest now, up Way too early this morning, paying for it ;+)
See ya later!

Hot Town, Summer In The City...
Ahhhhhh, 31 B-E-A-Utiful degrees, that's what I'm talkin' bout!!! It hit 30, football fans, and beyond!! For this we waited 9, 10 months...it was really summer today. The morning was dodgy, bit of rain, cloudy, etc. Since I was up at 6, gotz all the laundry done (yes!). At noon, it cleared up so went to the parentals' and 2nd coated tons of the house...like 1/2, but that's alot of wood. It looks great & more importantly Ma & Pa love it, so that's good. The deck will be easy peezy compared to this (okay, since you asked, prep work included pressure-washing the wood for an afternoon & then several afternoons of sanding the wood, once it dried :-) Primer, wood-filler, etc.
Got home to relapse, I mean relax, but realized I had to make a beer run (it was only 4:00!) so...I went to the Liquor Store where I saw a display of Corona Extra straw hats. I wanted to buy one for A (of afore-mentioned head-buzz, no hair!) so I grabbed the beers, the hat, and proceeded to the check out. This nice fellow ahead of me & I had a wee conversation about said hat, he thinking I prob. had to buy Corona to get the hat. So, he asked the grumpy-looking old-guy clerk standing behind the nice-lady clerk if I could buy the hat (he called him by name, so clearly he knew him). Mr. Grumpy (Jim) said nah, you have to buy 12 Corona. But the nice-lady clerk says to me "Nah...you can just have it."
Nah...you...can...just...have...it. Understand this never happens to me!! And after the stressful weeks I've had, particularly at work, it was such a trip!! I know it was only a hat, but still...I thanked her profusely as I left. Came home to relax & lie in the Sun with my outdoor, portable speaker which I had the foresight to purchase in the winter for 30 bucks!! It works wonderfully, I can listen to radio or CD. And of course I had a brewskie. And A loved the "free!!!" hat. G made delicious BBQ chicken with Baja Citrus marinade (we're so exotic ;-), taters & such, so we had a lovely dinner, completed our Sunday chores (well...my housework is still suffering, but I'd rather be outside & now I'm soooo tired) so that we can chill until it's time to go back to that 4-letter-word...begins with a 'w'...or an 'h'. 5 more days til freedom!!
Think I'll check out the comedy channel...wait a minute, are the Bombers playing? That's my lame joke, ladies & germs. Back to comedy...like they say, it's time well wasted. Love watching stand-up comedy...AND Guy Fieti on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, but that's on Fridays. We missed it on account of...you know...the damn Game.
Hope everyone had a lovely day. To my bro and friends in Ottawa, sorry it is & has been raining, but dammit, it's our turn and about damn time! Remember...we had snow on May 15th...you prolly had tulips.
Talk tomorrow & may the bluebird of happiness leave a prize on your windowsill.

Saturday...In the Park...
Well, football fans, I've cooled off now re: the really BAD game. It is what it is, and they have work to do.
Went to the parentals' to fill in the small holes (that my Dad noticed) with wood filler...I don't like working with wood filler. My seester had done some, but I did some more...it's done. Go back tomorrow to sand lightly & start applying 2nd coat of stain. M can't be there tomorrow, as she & (son-in-law) S are taking granddotter S out of town to wisit with the other Grandma and Grandpa.
Went to M's and took my Grand-dog Spencer for a nice, long walk. He is such a Love and has a good heart. Although he peed like 17 times, M. had hoped he mite make a poo cuz he hadn't all day but alas, he did not. He doesn't seem any worse for it (being bunged up) but I guess time will tell. Then, I took S to the park by her house...she enjoyed the baby swing for about 5 minutes and then got all "Enh! ,enh!" about it, trying to get herself OUT of the baby swing, so Granny rescued her. We sat (she in her stroller) and ate puffs...well, she ate puffs, I did not partake. Puffs are a healthy, nutritious toddler snack and S so enjoys them. Got her back home where she ran thru the grass babbling (I love that!) and into the gazebo where she enjoys swinging on the adult swinging thing (I forget what they're called). Then we sat in the dirt and she played with it, finding it endlessly fascinating. The party ended when she put a mouthful of dirt in her mouth...at least I didn't have to tell her it was icky & gross, as she quickly took it all out of her mouth and opted for freshly picked quackgrass instead. We each picked one, looked at each other and stuck 'em in our mouths. Just like I taught her! Oh, the small things...she's almost 15 months old, I so enjoy this age.
Oh yah!! My son A got "the haircut" on Thursday...actually buzzed, mite as well be bald. Hubby took him. So I sed to my son, "Son. It's time you got a job...let's go apply at Safeway!" which we will, very soon. He's applied there twice, but they don't hire no long-hairs at Safeway. Maybe he'll have more luck this time. And it would be real close to home...and Lord knows, he needs a job ;-))
My Kitty is patiently waiting to go into the front room for some relaxation...and feeling not so good myself, I think that is a Grand idea. I still have to finish watching the last season of Roseanne, which I received for me birthday (from Kitty and the other 2 felines). So, mebbe I'll do that...everything kida hurts...Mick Jagger was so right when he said "What a drag it is getting old."
Signing off,
CFM

Send In The Clowns...or...The Fifth Quarter
Oh my God, what WAS that?!? A 19-5 defeat to the Argos...clearly we have the worst offence in the CFL right now. There's something to be proud of hey, Mike Kelly? I watched the game (thankfully, I wasn't there), I've read the reviews and the Bomber Report. The word 'putrid' came up way more than once, in terms of offence, and I have to agree. This is a record for worst offence in a game! A total of one down in the first half...also gotta be a record. Jeez. We can't put all the blame on the quarterbacks...LeFors is s'posed to be good...last night he was dazed & confused, no one knows why. Kudos to Bryan Randall for trying in the 3rd and Richie Williams for trying in the 4th; at least you guys did some stuff.
Our defence was ok, not solid, but ok. Kudos to Dorian Smith for 3 sacks (I love that!), and to Jovon Johnson and Barrin Simpson for their efforts. Didn't see Doug Brown alot of the game..WTF?
In summary, despite their performance yesterday, I feel sorry for our Beloved Bombers and put the blame squarely on Mike Kelly. What kind of an offensive coach ARE you? God, try a new game plan, do SOMEthing. You're really Jeff Reinebold with a bald head, in a fat-guy suit, aren't you? I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, but no more. This was Game 4 and we are now 1-3.
Mr. Kelly - thanks again for cutting Kevin Glenn & Ryan Dinwiddie...cuz Kevin ain't no good & we didn't need him anymore...oh wait, he's doing wonderful things for Hamilton. And Dinwiddie played for the Grey Cup in '07 when Glenn broke his arm but didn't win it for us, so clearly he must suck too... You are truly an idiot and I guess we now have a way better QB in LeFors. Couple of games on the road that we don't have ahope in hell of winning unless you smarten the F up and get a real game plan.
And that's my rant.
Have a good day all,
CFM

It's Almost Game Time...
Here we are on the cusp of the 'really big game'...I hope the Bombiers (that's French for Bombers) are up for it. Lefors, try to connect a couple times this game...all I'm sayin'. Toronto are down one Arland Bruce, so that at least works in our favor...we hope:-)) Would love to be there, but I got to the one game (so far) that we won, 2 weeks ago now. My hero Milt Stegall was honored re: his induction in the Hall of Fame earlier that week. I did miss the jersey signing that Monday, but he'll be back & there'll be other opportunities to meet him. He was an amazing, classy player. There will never be another Milt...we salute you!! Or, at least I do, and yes, as a matter of fact, I WILL drink to that!
Work is still crazy, but this too shall pass after July 31, I smell 2 weeks of freedom...yeah!
In the NFL...now that Michael Vikk (Vick?) has done his time and is free to again kill dogs, I mean walk the streets, what team is going to pick HIM up? None, I hope. Pretty sure he is or should be blackballed...I mean the guy kills dogs for entertainment!! (convicted for dog-fighting, for those that don't know what I'm talkin' bout). However - the other NFL player (whose name escapes me right now) who was convicted for DUI and killing a person got a lesser sentence than Vik...doesn't make no sense. Sounds like Canada, not the US...Manitoba's got the "toughest drunk driving" laws, blah, blah, blah how many times you see anyone go to jail for killing people whilst driving drunk? Precious few...not enough...don't even get me started.
Anywho...gotta go, almost kickoff time, may the best Blue and Gold team win! C'mon Blue, you can DO IT!!

TIGAF (Thank God it's almost Friday!)
Greetings, football fans. It's Thursday!!!! And tomorrow's Game Day!! You'd think I was young, the way I look forward to the weekends...it's just that if I had my druthers, I would not have to work for a living...but, until hubby gets that 2nd job...c'mon & win the Lottery already!
So, the Vegas line for the Bombers/Argos tomorrow, if I recall correctly, was Bombers by 3. We'll see...Lefors is still "in training" and has a lot to prove, in my humble opinion (plus he throws like a girl). Stefan, can you handle it? Not to put ALL the pressure on the QB...no, our whole offence is weak. But still...Go Bombers!
Got my hairs done today...good for another 6 weeks. Do these gray hairs make me look old?
ha ha ;-)) only my hairdresser knows for sure...
Have to get over to see S tomorrow , her parents are taking her out of town Sunday and they both work Saturday and C is babysitting. What will I do with myself all wknd with no S to cuddle? I know, I can do the 2nd coat of stain on the parentals' house!! My life...huh?
And so it goes...it is what it is...and other words that make absolutely no sense.
Time to go, and good luck Blue!!! I'll drink to that...(it doesn't take much:)

Yawn...
Time for bed...I have no idea why I'm writing, just a force of nature (I love to write).
Dinner was wonderful...S (granddotter) is amazingly well-behaved in a restaurant...better behaved at a mere 14 months than alot of older children...and possibly some adults. G and I got free champagne from the waitress! Prolly felt sorry for us...Yeesh! those two have been married 20 years! She herself was approx. 21 (maybe a bit older), so she doesn't get it. Hell, I barely get it. I was 20 and now I'm 29 (with 21 years practice)...for a grand total of "do the math", I'll not spoon-feed you...I do that enuf at work. I sed the 4-letter word...Hell is also a 4-letter word...amazing similarities.
I shouldn't complain b/c today, football fans, I got a raise...and praise. Yep, praise and a raise, hallelejuiah (spelling?) . It made me feel better about everything for about a half an hour...then, back to H...this too shall pass in 5 years and 22 days!
G'nite, and pray that I sleep through the nite for a friggin' change. I read an article about sleep patterns of the pre-menopausal (Moi? hot flashes - check; night sweats - check) and it said that the waking up phenomena is called...wait for it...interrupted sleep! Lawdy, I had NO IDEA what that was, glad someone put a label on it.
See ya tomorrow,
Love & Peace

P.S. I forgot...I sed I'd let you know about the card. Well it wasn't mushy but it was a way nice, cool card.

Big Day
Today's the big day...happy 20th anniversary to me! and hubby G! It's a day to sit back and ponder...what was I thinking? Uh, no, I mean it's all good, a day to celebrate! Alas, it's just like any other day...would be nice to play hookey (do we really say that? it looks so weird in type) from work (that blasted, 4-letter word) but too bizzy to do such like that. So, will get through the day and celebrate at the Keg...large steak and large beer all for me and that's the way, uh huh uh huh, I likes it!
We're not doing gifts cuz we already spend too much money...so no gift to look forward to, sigh. But we're doing cards! I got a mushy one for G and if I know him, he got me a funny one. Would be different if any card from G contained mush...mebbe it does, we'll have to see! I'll let you know;-)
Haven't read the paper yet, hence no Bomber report...hopefully, Lefors is getting better & better at throwing the ball...practice lots Stefan!!! We have to beat Toronto on Friday...we HAVE to.
Well, football fans, muz start me day, so adios until the morrow (which is tomorrow)...

Time Out
Calgon, take me away!!!!!!! Overtime...never break in new shoes on a day you're workin' overtime..all I'm sayin'. Pain.
Sooooo tired.
Tomorrow's hubby and my 20th wedding anniversary! Twenty years now...where'd they go? Twenty years...I dunno. I sit 'n I wonder sometimes...where they've gone. Yah, I just stole lines from a Seger song, cuz today I'm a lazy, crazy football mom.
Anywho, we're goin' to the Keg w/our family to celebrate...M, S, S, A, hubby, me and niece C. Mmmmm....Keg steak. And a big, fat beer, all for me. You all can get your own!!
Feet hurt, can't keep eyes open (I know it's early, but I'm up at 5 and I don't sleep thru the night most of the time).
Must...lie...down.
Ciao!

Random thoughts
It's a new day, football fans. Wish we had a new quarterback...either that or let's get some 10-foot-tall receivers who can actually catch his throws. Ugh. Ok, WHEN does the NFL season start??
Nothing but gloom & doom in the paper. A poor 2-year-old baby drowned at St. Malo on the wknd, 2nd in very recent memory. Lifeguards...that's all I'm sayin'. He wandered away from their campsite...my heart goes out to his parents. There was a hoax report of someone throwing a baby from a bridge into the Red River...who the hell does that? Puts in a false report like that, I mean - happily there was no baby thrown from no bridge. In other news, they are searching the Winnipeg River for a young teacher (25 years old) who went missing in a boating accident on the wknd at Minaki. He taught his first year at Sisler High School (my alma mater) and was going to a new school in the fall (can't remember which one). His father teaches at St. Paul's and his mother is the principal at Shaughnessy Park School (my other alma mater). My heart goes out to the family as they search for him. When you're young and impetuous, you think you are immortal, which alas is not the case. Such a tragedy...
My son A, who has become nocturnal, is still unemployed...on the upside, he IS getting a haircut on Thursday, so anything's possible. Recommended jobs for A: artist (he is wonderfully talented); origami guy (is there a market for this?); movie critic; procrastinator (he used to crastinate, then he went Pro). Anyway...he's available 24/7 apparently. Please hire him, I'm begging you...
My two busiest weeks of the year at work and nobody cooperates...I know you're all busy too, but if I need you to get back to me RFN, it doesn't mean Wednesday...or whenever...thank you very little.
Here are the Top Ten reasons to procrastinate:
1.
Seriously...I hafta go to work in 2 hours...guess I should go shower & feed these damn cats before they pack their little suitcases and leave...altho that mite not be a bad thing :-) Three cats, roaming the streets, their sad little faces scanning the dark, unlit houses for a beacon, a household that would welcome them with open arms. My cats are so weird, noone would want them...I barely do! But we love them, and here they will stay...I'll have none of this mutinous behavior. You're all on time-out!
And so it goes...another day, another dollar (approx. 88 cents U.S.)
I bid you adieu, have an average day.

It's All Good
So tired...bizzy day. Primed and then stained 1st coat of the parental's maison, with M. 2nd coat as time permits, then fix/stain deck, then done...yay. I'm getting very little done @ home, but it's all good, becuz doing Pop's house as he desired is a good thing and he's not getting any younger, after all...he's 80 in October! And S (son-in-law) brought S (granddaughter) by, so she was a cute diversion :-)) It's 9:07 and I'm not done laundry or other chores but I'll get there. Tomorrow...back to hell, I mean work. Two more weeks & then I get 2 more weeks off...stop my feet from dancin'. Many miles to go b/4 I rest.
And that's the end of weekend, football fans, how quickly it goes...

Bombers get a Fail!
Wow...in true Bomber fashion, they gift-wrapped it and gave it away in the 4th. Very disappointing. Kudos to Kevin Glenn (TiCat's QB), he done good, and they deserved the win. Funny how Wpg. gave Glenn his walking papers cuz he had about as much mobility as a kitchen stool (this is my hubby's quote), last year he was off his game for most of the season and he had those bad knees... and then he does wonderful things for Hamilton. Lefors was a tad off his game last night, and hey, let's bring in Randall for about the last half of the 4th quarter, cuz that'll save us. No, I'm not bitter. Congratulations, Hamilton, on a well-played game.
Babysitting S was too much fun...we played, went outside where she loves to walk around in the grass and babble (I wish I knew what she was saying)...she likes to pull the grass & put it in her mouth, she is learning that it's kind of gross to eat and it gets stuck between the teeth (she has like 8 or so teeth, plus a couple molars). We had naps, lunch, played some more...it's all good and she is wonderful!
I can't sleep so I mite as well write. Currently, my son A is playing XBox Live with his buddy, C (my 2nd son), so he'll be sleeping all day tomorrow (today). Well, he better get his chore(s) done.
Yesterday, test drove a Ford car and SUV...even a base model SUV is soooo much money, I'd have to live in it to justify paying for it...jeez. So my new vehicle is still out there somewhere.
Today is a busy day, so much to do, so little time. We WILL get the priming done (me & M) and then the staining should go quickly after that...it's just finding the time. July is extremely busy at work and the coming week is pretty full already. Oh well, this too shall pass :+)
Adios, football fans, have a good one.

GO BOMBERS!!!
OMG, CFM almost forgot it's Game Day!! Welcome back Doug Brown, we need you to help beat the lowly TiCats. Now don't get too cocky out there, they WILL try hard. Vegas Line - Bombers by 1.5 points (from today's Free Press). Crazy Football Mom Line - Bombers by a field goal AT LEAST, if not more, that's my prediction & I'm stickin' to it. May the best (Blue & Gold) team win...go Blue!

Where has Summer gone?
Don't u just hate when it doesn't feel like summer??? I mean, on my vaycay (June 27 to July 12) it was, for the most part, hot & lovely. It FELT like summer...it no longer feels like summer. This makes me sad...hate the weather, would move to California or Kelowna (the Cali of Canada) if I had my 'druthers. We had winter (a brutal winter) here in the 'Peg from Nov 7th until oh, I don't know, I'm gonna say May!!!??? 7 long months. It's true, it snowed on my Mom's (May 9) and my granddaughter S's (May 15) birthdays...it didn't stay but it showed up & that was bad enuf!
Soon I go babysit S...the cutest, happiest baby ever!! I can't wait...she greets me with the most amazing smile, and squeals (she's in her squealing phase), and we proceed to have a great time. Grandkids - I highly recommend them. Hell, if I'd known it would be this much fun, I'd have had her first! ha ha, that's a lame cliche, ain't it? But, it's kinda true...can't put into words the love you feel for a grandchild(ren). All you grandparents out there, you know what I'm talkin' bout :-))
So, gotta go read the paper, finish my coffee & feed these damn cats...every morning it's the same thing...let's stare at Mom til she gets off her ass & feeds us!
Take care, football fans, and talk soon!

It's Here
Well, football fans, the weekend is finally here!! What are YOU doing this weekend? Saturday, I get to babysit my precious, wonderful, sweet little granddaughter S. S is 14 months old and just getting cuter and cuter :-)) I could go on and on... However; after that, I'm taking my hubby G vehicle shopping, to get me an SUV. I HATE vehicle shopping almost as much as I hate ironing, but it is a necessary EviL. Hey, the opposite of evil is live...cool...but I digress. Just want to get it over with - last time I did this, the salesguy stalked me for months (years?) after, til he finally got booted from Honda and Lord knows where he landed. He was creepy, but always nice to me, I just had to tell him 'Clint...please don't call me at work anymore." Like, he'd make shit up as an excuse to call me..."how's the car?" uh, the car's good, how's yers?" etc. like that, glad it's behind me; did I mention he was creepy? In a nice way but still...
Anywho, Sunday, my girl M and I gotz priming to do at the parental units' homestead, part of a Father's Day gift for my Pop, redo the cedar on the maison (outside), taking a long time, would help if we had more than one day in a row without rain!!! Blasted weather...if you don't like the weather in Winnipeg, just wait a minute...but I digress...again...I'm good at that.
How about them Bombers??? This Sideeq Shavaz (Shabaz? whatever his name is) guy is kinda neat. With the departure of Uncle Miltie (Stegall) I do need a new football hero to worship. I sure miss Tom Canada...and Kevin Glenn, Blink, all the guys from the '07 and '08 squads...but life goes on, things change...change is the only constant, may I say in particular for the '09 Bombers. Oh yes! And how about Derick Armstrong, a former fave player of mine. I really want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I can't. In my humble opinion, he thought too highly of himself...didn't think he was like that and it's really too bad...
Gotta go, 'parently this here laptop's runnin' outta bat-tree power, so I gotz to getz plugged back in.
Adios until tomorrow (I bet I'm having more fun tomorrow with S than any of y'all put together!)
Love & Peace

In my humble opinion, he thought too highly of himself...didn't think he was like that and it's really too bad...
Gotta go, 'parently this here laptop's runnin' outta bat-tree power, so I gotz to getz plugged back in.
Adios until tomorrow (I bet I'm having more fun tomorrow with S than any of y'all put together!)
Love & Peace

Day Two...
Hello, football fans. Well, here I am on day 2 of blogging. Today, work was brutal...I mean BRU-tal. Don't you just LOVE when you've asked for stuff you need for 1.5 months and you receive it ALL the day before it's due? I know I do...love it, that is. Oh well, this too shall pass. How many more years til retirement? Oh yah, 5 years, 28 days...but who's counting??!!???
Today I ordered tickets for Aerosmith, with special guests ZZ Top!!! How cool is that? Even with the "special price" (East side, upper deck) it still cost 3 hun...money well spent, I say! I LOVE ZZ Top and when would I ever see them again? Never! Oh, and Aerosmith are awesome too...not as awesome as the Eagles, but I can die happy cuz I saw the Eagles in March, up close & personal...and they were Too Awesome!
This work stuff is killin' me...I need to relax. There's a brewskie with my name on it and it's calling my name, so until next time, Ciao, see you in the funny papers.

Day One...
Well, today, I start my blog. I have always wanted to blog, but I just got the laptop, so cut me some slack, I've had no formal training!!! Really, it's true. Where do I start? I just had 2 weeks (not enuf) of vacation time, did lots of crap, really good, worthwhile crap. Went to the Bomber Game on Friday which they won, yes!! It was highly entertaining becuz A) there was a fight! That hardly ever happens...it was fun to watch, there were 2 off-setting pentalties and then one more for Calgary (yay:-) So yah, that was a good time. And 2) a lady got arrested! Yes she did...for being drunk as a skunk in the non-drinkin' section. Took 2 security, 2 volunteer and 1 cop to arrest her...and she RESISTED ARREST, which was really dumb. She's surely paying for that with her pride, along with money and other stuff, I'm sure. Anyway, it was a great game and a hard-fought win. Although, when we left to walk the mile to our vehicle, the score was 42-18, and by the time we turned on CJOB, the score was 42-30...personally, I liked the previous score better but it was still lots of fun and we won! And that's all I have for today, stay tuned ladies & germs...tomorrow is another day.
